Timing
For example: Right step lock step forward
- 1step (right) · weight moves onto it
- &lock (left) · weight moves onto it
- 2step (right) · weight moves onto it
How to do it
Going forward: step forward, bring the other foot in tight behind it on the & (the back toe near the front heel), then step forward again. Going back, the locking foot crosses in front.
It's a triple step with crossed legs, which gives it a sharper, traveling look.
On a step sheet
- Starting foot: the foot that leads the step
- Direction: which way it travels (forward, to the side, toward a diagonal...)
