How to do it

After a touch you're still standing on the same foot, so the foot that touched is free to move again on the next count. Most touches land beside the standing foot (touch left beside right), but they can go forward, back or to the side.

If the step sheet doesn't say toe or heel, touch with the ball of the foot.

On a step sheet

  • Touching foot: the foot that leads the step
  • Direction: which way it travels (forward, to the side, toward a diagonal...) (optional)
